God is Reading This Post

God is all, knows all, is omnipresent, etc.  That is a given.  But lately I have been noticing that God reads all of my blog posts and responds to them in a timely manner as if he subscribes on RSS, Facebook, and Twitter.  He is so on top of it!

Earlier today, I wrote a post entitled The Secrets We Keep.  Shortly thereafter, I was driving in my car and this song came onto the radio:

Wow.  It was like God was saying to me, “Don’t worry about that post you just made.  Don’t worry about what people with think of you or how this world makes you feel about your secrets.  I know who you are.  I know how I made you.”

Then I get home and I have received this email message:

 Hi Liz,
If God were to send you an email, He would say:
Let’s talk things over!  No matter what you’ve done or how deep the stain of your sin, I can remove it and make you as clean as freshly fallen snow.  I can! Even if the stain is as red as crimson, I can cleanse it as white as wool.
Tell me what you’ve done — honestly own up to your mistakes — and you can depend upon Me to cleanse you from every wrong.
This is possible because my Son, Jesus, died to wash away your sin.  Think about it!  I loved you so much that I sent my Son to die for you so that you might live and have a rich life.
There is no greater love than my love for you. You are my precious child.
God
P.S.  I mean what I am saying with all My heart. I put My promises in writing. You can read them for yourself in Isaiah 1: 18, I John 1: 9, 1 John 4: 10, and John 10: 10.

This letter reminded me that there is a secret I didn’t even list on the other page.  For years I have had an addiction to internet pornography.  During the month of September, I finally confronted it.  I came clean with God and I told my closest family members about  my problem.  It had begun to impact almost all of my relationships.  It really was tearing me up inside.  I felt so ashamed and so lonely.  It changed my perspective on romantic relationships and had me viewing them in a secular way instead of a Godly way.  I am still struggling with viewing myself the way God views me.  My identity has been rooted in the wrong things for so long that it is hard for me to see the light.
This past month, I participated in X3Pure.  It is an online program offered through XXXChurch.com and it was extremely helpful.  It helped me to know that I am not the only person who was sexually abused that then misused sexual acts, things, etc.  It also helped me know I’m not the only Christian woman who has gone through this.  It gave me the tools I needed to begin a new path and to see myself in a different way.  The videos for women were done by Shellie Warren and she was so relate-able that I felt like I was hanging out with her in my own living room.  I purchased two of her books and am going to read those to continue on this journey.

I have a long way to go, but it’s comforting knowing that God knows all of my thoughts and especially that he reads all of my blog posts! :)
